Tami has a long and happy history of working for and with libraries in Canada. That is not what this blog is about. Though we may visit libraries more often than the average travel blogger, this blog will not be about libraries. Instead we’ll talk about travelling as a family, how we grow, how we challenge each other, and survive the new and unknown. It’ll be a year of realigning priorities and pulling out of everything that defines us: work, school, home, friends (who we’ll miss immensely!), and whatever remains will just be us, sometimes sensitive and raw, but mostly hilarious hijinks, I’m sure.
Darren is the proud owner of one of the last surviving video stores in Vancouver, Black Dog Video. He’s one of the lucky people who found his passion and followed it, with great success for many years. While the business may be in the twilight of profitability, he’s constantly looking for new ways to share his passion for film. Hopefully this trip will provide some inspiration of what to do next.
Swanson is our 9 year old son. He loves school and his friends. Despite knowing he will miss his friends, he is very excited to be going on this trip. He will occasionally guest post on this blog as a way to stay in touch with friends. He is very social so will have no trouble making friends of all ages, from all over the globe, along the road.
